SMS Opt-In & Consent Disclosure

Harlo is dispatch software used by trucking companies to run their operations. This page describes how consent is collected before Harlo sends work-related text messages to a commercial driver, and what those messages contain.

Who receives these messages

Recipients are commercial drivers employed by or contracted to a motor carrier that uses Harlo. Messages are operational notices about that driver's own work assignments. Harlo does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages, and does not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing.

How consent is collected

A driver's mobile number is entered in Harlo during onboarding, in the presence of the driver, as part of the carrier's hiring paperwork. Text notifications are off by default. They are enabled only when the driver affirmatively consents by agreeing to the following statement, shown on screen at the time the number is recorded:

I agree to receive text messages from Harlo on behalf of my employer about my load assignments, dispatch, and schedule at the mobile number provided. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of employment or of any purchase.

Harlo records the consent, the exact language shown, the timestamp, and the user who recorded it. A driver who does not consent still receives assignments through the normal channels their carrier already uses.

What the messages look like

First message after opt-in:

Harlo: You are signed up for dispatch and load alerts from [Carrier Name]. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Ongoing operational message:

Harlo: New load assigned by [Carrier Name]. Load 10482. Pick up Joliet, IL Aug 22 8:00 AM. Deliver Columbus, OH Aug 23 2:00 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.

Frequency, cost, and opting out

Message frequency varies with the driver's workload — typically a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop all further messages. Reply HELP, or contact support@goharlo.com, for help. A carrier can also disable a driver's notifications at any time from within Harlo.
